Why should I study Entrepreneurship?

“There has NEVER been a better time to start a business!”

Did you know that almost a million Australians were out of work during the peak of coronavirus? According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the number of jobs actually decreased to 7.5 per cent. If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us, it’s to expect the unexpected. Whilst many lost their jobs, those who didn’t began to realise that perhaps theirs wasn’t as stable as they had previously thought, hence more and more people began turning to Entrepreneurship as a way of generating a side income, or perhaps a  full time job. Regardless of whether you’re looking to generate another stream of income, or have you always dreamed of having your own business, there has NEVER been a better time to start a business!

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report revealed around 1.8 million Australians show entrepreneurial activity which leads to the fact that Australia outperforms most other developed economies in terms of quality and economic impact of business start-ups. And until this year, the Australian economy grew year on year for almost the last 30 years, impressive right?

It’s a given that being an Entrepreneur is no walk in the park:

One reason why businesses fail is there is no market need.

However, by learning the practical Entrepreneurial skill set, and networking with the right people, you can greatly increase your chance of success!  Not convinced? Entrepreneurial skills are not only relevant to becoming an Entrepreneur, but anyone, anywhere, working in ANY field!

Start-ups especially look for candidates who can help them in an array of different areas and increase business revenue. Still doubting? Learning practical Entrepreneurial skills will help you to shape your skills and to learn to open your mind to an array of possibilities you might never have imagined! The ability to think critically is essential to be successful in business.

Entrepreneurs are driven and work with a goal in mind to make a change. And yes, Entrepreneurs sell products and services, however, to succeed they must identify needs and problems.
