FINANCE YOUR START-UP WITH A CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN

A startup can have a fantastic and brilliant idea, but that’s often not enough. The founder also needs capital to finance the project.
Crowdfunding is a very clever way to finance startups and businesses.

WHAT EXACTLY IS IT? Crowdfunding is a very efficient form of micro-financing from the bottom,  thanks to the visibility offered from the online Platforms.Traditionally a startup or business that wants to raise capital needs to make a business plan, do market research, create a prototype and propose it to the judgment of possible investors. These are usually banks, big corporations, investment funds, incubators like Academy of Entrepreneurs, angel investors, or capital ventures.

Crowdfunding can be also seen as a funnel where at the top there is the founder and at the bottom all the investors and the crowdfunding platform.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A person or a startup who has a project and the necessity to finance it will ask the chosen platform to publish the project online.

If the campaign reaches its objective, it will receive the fund in exchange of a commission payable to the platform.

ADVANTAGES

Is not only a valid way to obtain capital but also offers the possibility to generate engagement around the product, to enlarge the audience and the supporters even when the campaign has finished.

Just think about the PEBBLE crowdfunding campaign. They raised over $1 million within the first hour and kept generating interest even after the campaign.

Digital marketing skills are the major key to success.
